Connecticut Housing Partners hosted a live streamed event at Maplewood Court in Bridgeport today, celebrating the launch a $9 Million restoration of this 32-unit family affordable housing development. The restoration will fully renovate all units and put back into service 10 family units that were destroyed in Storm Sandy in 2012. The event was attended by Renée Dobos, the CEO of Connecticut Housing Partners and Melody Gonzalez, a former Maplewood Court Resident; and virtually, Mayor Joe Ganim of Bridgeport; Nandini Natarajan, the CEO of CHFA; Joanie Straussman Brandon, the Northeast Regional VP of NeighborWorks America; Lynn Peterson, the Senior Relationship Manager from NeighborWorks America and Alanna Kabel from HUD. Interviewees included Seila Mosquera-Bruno, the Commissioner of Housing; and Jennifer Chadwick, the President of the Board of Connecticut Housing Partners; to name a few. Restorations are expected to be completed in late 2021.
